Hello! It is Tuesday FREE pattern day with Yarn Over with Natasha, today I bring you a little woodland animal called Peanut.
I used Elle Pure gold DK to create and design this pattern. Elle has a wide range of lovey yarn, you can visit their website HERE.
Here is the free pattern
Yarn Needed:
Double knit/light worsted yarn
- Color A: Body 40g
- Little bit of white and brown embroidery floss for the eyes and nose
Hook size:
3.00mm
Other tools:
- scissors
- stuffing
- 10/12 mm safety eyes (optional)
- stitch marker
- tapestry needle
Stitch terms:
- SC: Single Crochet
- INC: INCrease
- CH: Chain
- DEC: DECrease
- SLP: Slip stitch
- MC: Magic Circle
Skill: Easy, need to know the basics of amigurumi, working in rounds, sewing, how to increase and decrease SC stitch.

2: (INC) x6 [12]
3-4: SC in each stitch around [12]
5: 1 SC { INC x 10 } 1 SC [22]
6-8: SC in each stitch around [22]
9: 2 SC, { INC x 18} 2 SC [40]
10-12: SC in each stitch around [40]
Insert safety eyes between rounds 10-11, 15 stitches apart.
13: 4 SC { INC, 3 SC x 8} 4 SC [48]
14-15: SC in each stitch around [48]
16: 3 SC, {DEC; 6 SC x 5} DEC, 3 SC [42]
17: (5 SC, DEC) x6 [36]
18-19: SC in each stitch around [36]
20:(4 SC, DEC) x6 [30]
21: (3 SC, DEC) x6 [24]
22: (2 SC, DEC) x6 [18] – stuff the head
23: (1 SC, DEC) x6 [12]
24: (DEC) x6 [6]
Slip-sitch and weave in the end.
Face details:
Eyes: Take white yarn to stitch around the eyes. I made four small stitches around the eye. Nose: Take the black yarn and first make a triangle at the tip of the nose. Fill the triangle in with long vertical stitches.

EARS: Make two
COLOUR A:
1: MC, 4 SC [4]
2: SC in each stitch around [4]
3: INC x4 [8]
4-5: SC in each stitch around [8]
6: (SC, INC) x4 [12]
7: SC in each stitch around [12]
Slip stitch, pinch the opening of the ear between your thumb and index finger, slip stitch or SC 6 across to close the ear. Fold the two outer corners of the ears together using your needle or hook and stitch the two corners together.
Attach the ears on top of the head.

Stuff the remaining body part. slip stitch and leave a strand of yarn to attach the body to the head
ATTACH: sew the body onto the head
HAUNCHES: Make two
COLOUR A:
1: MC, 6 SC [6]
2: (INC) x6 [12]
4: (1 SC, INC) x6 [18]
5-6: SC in each stitch around [18]
Slip stitch, leaving a strand of yarn to sew the haunches to the body. Attach them to the side of the body at the bottom half.

FEET: Make two
COLOUR A:
1: MC, 5 SC [5]
2: (INC) x5 [10]
3-7: SC in each stitch around [10] -stuff the foot a little-
Slip stitch, pinch the foot between your thumb and index finger, slip stitch or SC 5 across.
ATTACH: Sew the foot between the body and the haunch. Using your needle attach the top of the foot to the body so that it doesn’t flop up and down.
ARMS: Make two
COLOUR A:
1: MC, 7 SC [7]
2-9: (INC) x5 [10]
Slip stitch, pinch the foot between your thumb and index finger, slip stitch or SC 5 across.
ATTACH: Using your needle sew the arms on either side of the body.
TAIL:
COLOUR A: 1: MC, 6 SC [6]
2: INC x6 [12]
3: (SC, INC) x6 [18]
4: (2 SC, INC) x6 [24]
5: (3 SC, INC) x6 [30]
6-7: SC in each stitch around [30]
8: 3 SC, [DEC x12] 3 SC [18]
9: SC in each stitch around [18]
10: 3 SC, [DEC x6] 3 SC [12]
11-20: SC in each stitch around
Slip stitch, pinch the tail between your thumb and index finger, slip stitch or SC 6 across.
ATTACH: Using your needle sew the tail onto the back of the body, lift the tail up and attach it with small stitches along the side so that it goes up straight against the back of the squirrel.
