Free peep bunny – crochet pattern

Easter is around the corner, and that means we need to start hopping on things to make some cute bunnies for those Easter baskets.

These peep bunnies are super easy to make, and they are no-sew! The tail is of course optional!

Introducing my free peep bunny pattern, it is perfect for beginners and a fun way to use up your yarn stash as it uses less than 50g of Yarn.

Size of the crochet bunny: If you use the recommended size hook and yarn weight the pattern provides, the bear will be 10cm/ 3.93 inches.

Skills: This is a beginner-friendly pattern. Basic amigurumi crochet skills are needed. Magic ring, Single crochet, increase and decrease. .

What you will need to crochet this peep bunny

Yarn, less than 50gram with a 4.0mm hook.

  • scissors
  • stuffing
  • 10/12 mm safety eyes (optional)
  • stitch marker
  • tapestry needle
  • Wire pet grooming brush for mane

Stitch terms:

  • SC: Single Crochet
  • INC: INCrease
  • CH: Chain
  • DEC: DECrease
  • SLP: Slip stitch
  • MC: Magic Circle

Here is the free peep bunny:

EARS: (Make two)

-Ear one-

1: MC, 6 SC [6]

2: SC, INC x4 [9]

3: SC in each stitch around [9]

4: (2 SC, INC) x4 [12]

5-6: SC in each stitch around [12] *2 Rounds*

7: (2 SC, DEC) x4 [9]

8: SC in each stitch around [9] – stuff the ear

FO, Weave in end.

-Ear two-

1: MC, 6 SC [6]

2: ISC, NC x4 [9]

3: SC in each stitch around [9]

4: (2 SC, INC) x4 [12]

5-6: SC in each stitch around [12] *2 Rounds*

7: (2 SC, DEC) x4 [9]

8: SC in each stitch around [9] – Stuff the ear

9: Don’t cut the yarn, SC into ear one, SC 8 around, SC 9 around ear two [18]

BODY:

10: SC in each stitch around [18]

11: (2 SC, INC) x6 [24]

12: (3 SC, INC) x6 [30]

13-14: SC in each stitch around [30] *2 Rounds*

15: (3 SC, DEC) x6 [24]

16: (2 SC, DEC) x6 [18]

17: SC in each stitch around [18]

18: (1 SC, DEC) x6 [12]

19: SC in each stitch around [12] – stuff the head

20: (1SC, INC) x6 [18]

21: (2 SC, INC) x6 [24]

22: (3 SC, INC) x6 [30]

23-24: SC in each stitch around [30] *2 Rounds*

25: (3 SC, DEC) x6 [24]

26: SC in each stitch around [24]

27: (2 SC, DEC) x6 [18] – Stuff the body

28: (1 SC, DEC) x6 [12]

FO, cross weave the yarn through the 12 stitches, pull the yarn tight as you go around to close the bottom of the bunny.

TAIL:

1: MC, 6 SC [6]

2: (INC) x6 [12]

3: SC in each stitch around [12]

4: (1 SC, DEC) x4 [9]

FO, leave a strand of yarn for sewing the tail onto the back. attach the tail between rounds 3-7.

Embroidery:

Eyes: Make two vertical stitches for the eyes between rounds 11-12, 4 stitches wide.

Nose: Make a small vertical stitch, two stitches wide between rounds 12/13.
