I hate to say this, but it needs to be said. Although this pattern is free on my blog, it’s not free to screenshot and share on any form of social media or messaging platforms, including WhatsApp groups. The ads on my website help make up for the income I lose by not selling the pattern. When you screenshot or convert my blog post into PDF files, you’re ripping away part of that income for me.

Please, instead of sharing screenshots, share the direct link to my pattern.

This is the last part of a three-part crochet-a-long for this super cute amigurumi daisy turtle pattern.

I’ve teamed up with Elite Yarns and The Wool Shoppe here in South Africa to bring you this adorable turtle to crochet along with us!

The yarn I used to create this turtle is called Dolce from YarnArt, a super soft, 6-weight velvet yarn.

Velvet yarn has been trending overseas for a while, but it’s really taken off this year here in South Africa. I have to say, working with velvet yarn is such a pleasure! I’ve found it hard to go back to using acrylic yarn—unless it’s super soft and silky, like Kismet Feels Like Cashmere or Elle Gold.

Part three we will be making the head and feet and sewing them onto the shell, to see what materials you need to create this turtle go back to my Introduction post, HERE.

Assembling the head:

Place the head in front of the shell, the neck should stop under the BLO you made when creating the shell. Tip- place the neck on top of the colour change it hide it.

Whip stitch across the bottom of the neck. To keep your turtle’s head from falling forward, catch it with a stitch behind the neck onto the shell. The further back you place the head of your turtle will prevent it from tipping forward onto his face.
