Say hello to my new Christmas Elves, Noël and Ginger!
This low-sewing, 2-in-1 pattern is now available on my Etsy, Ravelry, and South African website.
After designing my pups (Ballerina and Farm Dog), I fell in love with the 2-in-1 concept—it’s such a fun way to create multiple characters from one pattern. I also love the idea of dressing up my designs, giving you the chance to create colorful toys. At the same time, you still have the option to make simple animals without clothes by simply following the base color pattern.

The yarns used to create my elves
I used the new Kismet Velvet plush range, here is the list of colours that I used:
- Red colour no: 45
- Light Green colour no: 32
- Dark Green colour no: 33
- White colour no: 06
- Brown colour no: 29
- Orange colour no: 35
- Skintone colour no: 46
I used a 3.5mm Crochet hook and my crochet method used is Yarn Over/ Yarn Under (Here my Youtube tutorial on the different methods of making a SC stitch)

More information about my Crochet Elf Christmas pattern
So by now you know you get to make both Elves if you purchase this pattern, but I mentioned it is low-sewing, and by the looks of it, it may not seem that way especially with Ginger (The little girl).
How the pattern is constructed.
- You will first make the head, ears and create the eyes (Yes, the crochet/embroidery eye pattern is included in this pattern)
- You will then go on to make the arms.
- You will also make the hat and hair (which is one piece) and you will sew it onto the head.
- For Ginger you will also make the dress details.
- Once all those sections are done, you will start at the legs and as you continue making the pattern your will crochet in the dress details and arms.
Only sewing you will be doing is attaching the ears to the head, the hat and hair to the head and the head to the body. (Don’t worry I have included a trick to sew on the head)
In this pattern I have also linked my Youtube video to Colour changing
Can I make this pattern in different weight yarn?
Yes, You can. I have included a list a hooks you need to use with the yarn you have on hand. This pattern can easily be swopped from plush yarn to cotton. But, you have to remember the thinner and more light weight the yarn the smaller your project will be. So if you are looking from something big and cuddly like these elves in my photos you won’t be able to make them in cotton.
Is this pattern beginner friendly?
Yes, to an extent it is, I listed this pattern as beginner friendly because I do include all the steps you need to be able to make this pattern and it is detailed, however, you need to have done amigurumi before or have some sense of working in rounds, increasing, decreasing and such.
