Pattern Overview:

  1. Create Four C2C Blocks – Each block is crocheted using the corner-to-corner technique.

  2. Assemble the Blocks – Arrange them in a diamond shape.

  3. Join with a Blanket Stitch – Seam the blocks together using a decorative blanket stitch.

  4. Finish & Weave in Ends – Add any final touches and enjoy your cozy creation!

Step 1: Crochet the C2C Blocks

Each block is made using the corner-to-corner (C2C) method. If you’re new to C2C, it’s a technique that starts from one corner and works diagonally to the opposite corner, creating small square-like stitches.

You first have to complete all 4 blocks before sewing them together with blanket stitch method.

Step 2: Arrange the Blocks

Once you’ve completed your four blocks, lay them out in a diamond shape. This is where the quilting inspiration comes in! The combination of the four colors gives the blanket a modern, minimalist feel.

Step 3: How to Join Using a Blanket Stitch

The blanket stitch is a great way to seam the blocks together while adding a decorative touch.

How to Do the Blanket Stitch:

  1. Thread your yarn needle with a long strand of yarn (choose a color that complements the edges of your squares).

  2. Place two blocks together, right sides facing out.

  3. Insert the needle from back to front through both loops of the first stitch on both blocks.

  4. Pull the yarn through, leaving a small loop.

  5. Insert the needle through the next stitch and pull it through the loop you left in step 4.

  6. Continue stitching along the edge, keeping tension even for a neat finish.

  7. Repeat until all four blocks are joined.

This unique take on a C2C blanket was inspired by quilting patterns I came across on Pinterest. Instead of creating an animal design, I loved the idea of combining shapes for a modern, geometric look. The chunky Kismet 67 Blanket yarn makes this project extra cozy and warm.
