Part two of the Elephant baby blanket pattern we will be adding all the details to finish the blanket. The details include the sun, clouds, waterdrops, tail and the eyes of the elephant.

Yarn Needed:
Double knit/ Light worsted weight yarn
- Colour A: 30g
- Colour B: 15g
- Colour C: 20g
- Colour D: 15g
- A little bit of black yarn to make the eyes and some white for the highlights.
Colour options:
- Colour A: Yellow
- Colour B: Orange
- Colour C: White
- Colour D: Dark blue
3.5mm crochet hook

Stitch terms for Elephant details:
- MC: Magic Ring
- SC: Single Crochet
- TC: Treble crochet
- DC: Double crochet

- DEC: Decrease

The detail on the Elephant: Attach these on both sides of the elephant blanket
Details of the blanket:
You can attach the details anywhere on the blanket you wish. I placed the appliques on top of each other so that they are on the same spot on both sides of the blanket.
Attach the details by sewing them on to the front post of the blanket stitches.
SUN: (Make 2)
Colour A: Yellow
The chain 2 at the beginning of the round does not count as a stitch
1: MC, CH2, 12 DC [12]
2: CH2, INC x12 [24]
3: CH2, (DC, INC) x12 [36]
4: CH2, 1 DC,(2 DC, INC) x11, 1 DC, INC [48]
5: CH2,DC, INC (5 DC, INC) x7, DC 2, INC [56]
Slip stitch and leave a long tail of yarn to attach the sun to the corner of the blanket. Using a whip stitch you will only catch the front post stitch of each DC so that the whip stitches are not shown at the back

SUN RAYS: ( 7 rays around)
Colour B: Orange
1: SC 8 on the edge of the sun, TYW [8]
2:CH1, SC in each stitch [8]
3: CH1, DEC, SC 4, DEC [6]
4: CH1, SC 4 [4]

6: CH1, SC in each stitch [2]
7: CH1, DEC x1 [1]
Slip stitch, leave a tail of yarn and whip stitch the ray onto the blanket

WATER DROPS: (Make 6)
Colour D: Dark blue
1: CH7, TC x2 in the 3nd chain from the hook, DC in next 2 stitches, HDC in next stitch, SC x2 in the last chain. Working on the opposite side of the chain, HDC in next stitch, DC in next 2 stitches, TC x 3 in the last chain. [11]
Slip stitch and leave a long strand of yarn to whip stitch the drops on top of the trunk.

EYES: (Make 2)
Black yarn
1: MC, CH2, HDC x6 [6]
Slip stitch and leave a longish strand of yarn to sew the eye on to elephant. Use a little bit of white yarn to create the highlights in the eyes.
The eye should be attached next to the bottom corner of the ear.
TAIL: (Make 2)
Light grey and dark grey
1: CH10, DC in the 2nd chain from the hook, SC in the 8 remaining chains. [9]
slip stitch, and leave a longish tail of yarn to sew the tail onto the body at the back of the elephant.
For the hair on the tail:
Wrap the dark grey yarn 10 times around your hand, and cut one side of the circle to create strands of the dark grey yarn. Split the bundle in two, and attach the string of yarns at the tip of the in-tassel knot of each tail.

1: CH6, SC in the 2nd CH from the hook, SC in the next 4 remaining chains. TYW [5]
2: CH1, INC, SC 3, INC. TYW [7]
