What will you need to make this cat keychain?
I used Elle yarn cotton 4ply to make the kitten in this pattern but you can use any weight or textured yarn.
- 4ply/sports yarn- 40m
- 2mm hook,
- stuffing
- 10/8mm crochet eyes.

- darling needle for sewing

2.5mm- 4ply/ Fingering yarn
3.0mm- Double knit / light worsted weight
3.5mm- Parfait Chunky / Kismet velvet plush
4.0mm – Bernat Blanket / Alize Velluto

Next Round insert the ears working in the front loop of the stitch
7: SC 9, Ear one: FLO- HDCx2, CH1, HDCx2, SC in next 6 sts, Ear two: FLO- HDCx2, CH1, HDCx2,} SC in the remaining 19 sts [44]
Next Round you will do one SC behind each ear in the back loop of the previous round
8: SC in next 28sts,BO stitch,SC in the next 5sts, BO stitch, SC in last stitch [36]
Insert the safety eyes between rounds 4-5, across from each other, and make sure the BO stitches are at the bottom
**Don’t cut the yarn between colour changes**

14: SC 28, BO stitch, SC in next 5sts, BO stitch, SC in the last stitch [36]

18: (2 SC, DEC) x 3, CH 8, HDC in the 2nd chain from the hook, HDC in the remaining 7 chains, Slip stitch into the dec stitch at the base of the tail, (2 SC, DEC) x 3 – stuff the body fully at the point.

Slip stitch and cut the yarn leaving a longish strand of yarn to close up the bottom and attach the keychain to the center of the cat’s back between the two striped lines.
ATTACHING THE KEYCHAIN:
- Thread a piece of yarn through the center at the top of the cat’s body.
- Pull the yarn through the keychain loop.
- Weave the yarn back into the body of the cat.
- Make a small knot to secure it.
- Thread the yarn back through the keychain loop.
- Repeat the process of weaving the yarn into the body and making another small knot.
- Cut off any excess yarn.
