Stitch terms:
- MC: Magic circle
- SC: Single Crochet
- INC: INCrease
- CH: Chain
- DEC: DECrease
- SLP: Slip stitch
- DC: Double Crochet
- BLO: Back loop only
- FLO: Front loop only
Yarn needed:
Double knit/light worsted weight yarn or 4ply/ fingering yarn
Hook: 2.5mm / C
Other materials:
- stuffing
- 8mm safety eyes (Optional)
- keyring (Optional)
- scissors
- yarning/ tapestry needle
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner, you need to know the basic of amigurumi and working in rounds
BODY:
COLOUR 1: (Top part of the whale)
1: MC, 6 SC [6]
2: INC x6 [12]
3: (SC, INC) x6 [18]
4: (2 SC, INC) x6 [24]
5: (3 SC, INC) x6 [30]
6: (4 SC, INC) x6 [36]
7-11: SC in each stitch around [36]
Inserting the fins and tail {
12: SC 19, Fin 1: {in FLO, SC, CH2, DC x3, CH2, SC, in the same stitch } SC 6 Tail: { in FLO, SC, CH2, DC x2, CH2, SC in the same stitch} FLO SC in next stitch, in next stitch { FLO, SC, CH2, DC x2, CH2, SC in the same stitch} SC 6 Fin 2: { in FLO, SC, CH2, DC x3, CH2, SC in the same stitch} [30 Excluding the fins]
Insert the safety eyes between rounds 10/11, just above the outer inner corner of the fin 16 stitches apart.

Note: Where you have worked in the FLO of the previous round, stitches 20/27/28/29/36 you will in round 13 be working in the back loops.
13: BLO, SC in each stitch around [36]
14: (4 SC, DEC) x6 [30]
15: (3 SC, DEC) x6 [24]
16: (2 SC, DEC) x6 [18] – stuff the whale
17: (1 SC, DEC) x6 [12]
18: (DEC) x6 [6]
End with a slip stitch and weave in the ends.
