I’ve designed a new 4-in-1 crochet pattern called The Bear Buddies! This bundle lets you create one of four adorable bears.

The base pattern stays the same, and with just a few simple adjustments included in the instructions, you can make a Brown Bear, Polar Bear, Panda Bear, or Koala

The pattern is beginner to intermediate, all in one easy-to-follow pattern! If you have made amigurumi before and know the basic stitch terms of amigurumi you’ll be able to crochet these bears.

I designed these adorable bears using Kismet Plush Velvet Yarn, which I get from The Wool Shoppe.  You can grab yours too and enjoy a once off  5% discount as a new customer with my code: YARNOVER.  International shipping is available—just contact The Wool Shoppe through their website for details!

More about the patterns

How to crochet a brown bear

Coco the Brown Bear

The base of this pattern is adapted from the brown bear design. I’ve included a page that marks when and in which round the color changes for his clothes should happen.

The bear measures approximately 38 cm (about 15 inches) when made with plush yarn.

You can make this pattern with different yarn weights and textures—just be sure to adjust your hook size based on the yarn you’re using.

Low-sewing pattern

This bear pattern is low-sewing pattern. You will start making the arms first so that you can insert it as you make the body. The body starts at the legs and as you move up to the neck you’ll insert the arms.

Only sewing is the details to the head, head to the body, the tail.

crochet polar bear pattern

Buddy the Polar Bear

The polar bear pattern is the same as the brown bear, only the colour changes of the muzzle was switched out, as it is indicated in the pattern.

crochet panda bear pattern

Biscuit the Panda

The panda bear’s head pattern is on a separate page, along with the ears, which are different from the brown bear. The color changes for the panda are also clearly indicated in the pattern.

The face color changes are provided in both written format and a grid layout for easy reference.

Crochet Koala pattern

Chippie the Koala

Although Chippie isn’t technically a bear, I thought it made sense to include him in this bundle. I’ve been wanting to create a koala pattern for such a long time but just couldn’t settle on a design I liked—until now!

The koala’s color changes are explained on a separate page, along with the written patterns for the nose and ears.

The pattern comes as a single PDF. In addition to the main pattern, you’ll also receive a separate PDF with step-by-step instructions for creating crochet eyes.

The eye pattern includes multiple sizes to fit different yarn textures and weights.
