Brintey bunny- Part four of free crochet-a-long

Are you ready to put your bunny together?! In this post we will be making the dress for the bunny.  

Before we begin, make sure you have completed Part One , Part two, Part three, of the crochet-a-long

Stitch terms:

  • MC: Magic Ring
  • SC: Single Crochet
  • INC: INCrease
  • DEC: DECrease
  • SLP: Slip stitch
  • CH: Chain
  • DC: Double crochet
  • TC: Trebble crochet
  • HDC: Half double crochet
  • TYW: Turn your work

 

Stitches:

DC: Yarn Over, insert your hook, pull up a loop, Yarn Over, and pull through two loops, Yarn Over, Pull through two loops.

 

TC: Yarn Over twice, insert your hook, Pull up a loop, Yarn Over, pull through two loops, Yarn Over, pull through two loops, Yarn Over, Pull through two loops.

 

HDC: Yarn Over, insert your hook, Pull up a loop, Yarn Over, and pull through all three loops on your hook.

The Pattern

DRESS:

You will be working in rows using HDC

Colour C: (Sunset)

Top of dress:

R1: Chain 25, HDC in the second chain from the hook, HDC in the remaining chains [24]

R2: CH1, (2 HDC, INC) x8, TYW[32]

R3: CH1, (3 HDC, INC) x8, TYW [40]

R4-5: CH1, HDC in each stitch across, TYW [40] *2 Rows*

R6: CH1, HDC 5, Skip 10 stitches, HDC 10, Skip 10 stitches, HDC5, TYW- The stitches skipped are the arm holes- [20]

R7: CH1, (3 HDC, INC) x5, TYW [25]

R8: CH1, (4 HDC, INC) x5, TYW [30]

R9: CH1, (5 HDC, INC) x5, TYW [35]

R10: CH1, (6 HDC, INC) x5, TYW [40]

Connect the two outer sides with a slip stitch.

The bottom of the dress is worked in rounds using DC:

11: CH2, DC in each stitch around [40]

12: CH2,(1 DC, INC) x20 [60]

13: CH2, DC in each stitch around [60]

14: CH2, (4 DC, INC) x12 [72]

15-17: CH2, DC in each stitch around [72] *3 Rounds*

Cut the yarn and weave in the end. Add buttons to the top or use the yarn tail at the beginning to close up the dress.

BOWS: (Make two)

Colour C: (Sunset)

1: MC, CH2, DC, TC x3, DC, CH2, SC (first half) CH2, DC, TC x3, DC, CH2, SC – Pull tight the Magic ring.

2: Take the tail of your yarn and wrap it around the center x6, Knot it at the back with the other yarn tail, cut a strand, and use the yarn strand to secure the bow to the top corner of each ear on the head

That is it, we are done with our bunny!
