FACIAL DETAILS:

Eye Highlight:

Begin by threading a small length of white cotton thread with a yarn needle. Insert your needle with yarn through the back of your doll to the front, Starting the highlight from the bottom outer corner of the safety eye, stitch a single strand of the white thread along the edge of the eye, inserting the needle back into the outer top corner of the safety eye, creating a highlight effect. FO by weaving the yarn tail back through the same stitch you have inserted, make a knot and weave in the yarn tails left at the back of the head. Repeat the method above with the second eye.

Eyelashes:

Switch to black cotton thread. Insert your needle from the back of the head towards the front of the face, starting the lash at the inner top corner just above the safety eye. Place the stitch above the eye and reinsert the needle one stitch away and one round lower on the top outer corner of the safety eye. Pull the thread through to create a stitch, forming the first lash. Repeat this process several times, evenly spacing the lashes along the top edge of the safety eye. Be sure to adjust the length and angle of each lash, making it a little higher and shorter. Weave the thread back through to the starting point where you inserted your needle, knot the yarn, and weave in the ends. Repeat this with the second eye.
