Crochet fairy CAL- Part three

Welcome back to this Free crochet-a-long of Flora the Fairy, today we are at PART THREE, making the wings and petals! In PART ONE we made the head and hair of the fairy. PART TWO we made the ears and arms.

This fairy is Low-sew, so that means we will be crocheting all the petals and limbs first so that we can attach them to the body as we crochet it. 

Flora the fairy is a intermediate/ easy patterns that mostly consist out of Single crochet stitches.

WINGS(Make two) :

 No stuffing required

1: MC, 5 SC [5]

2: SC in each stitch around [5]

3: INC x5 [10]

4-5: SC in each stitch around [10] *2 Rounds*

6: (SC, INC) x5 [15]

7-8: SC in each stitch around [15] *2 Rounds*

9: (2 SC, INC) x5 [20]

10: SC in each stitch around [20]

11: (3 SC, INC) x5 [25]

12-15: SC in each stitch around [25] *4 Rounds*

16: (SC, DEC) x 5, SC 10 [20]

17: (SC, DEC) x 5, SC 5 [15]

18: SC 3,DEC x 5, SC 2 [10]

19-20: SC in each stitch around [10] *2 Rounds*

Continue with the bottom of the wing:

21: SC3, INC x5 , SC 2 [15]

22: (2SC, INC) x5 [20]

23-24: SC in each stitch around [20] 

25: (2 SC, DEC) x5 [15]

26: (SC, DEC x5 [10]

27: SC in each stitch around [10]

28: (DEC) x5 [5]

FO, Leave a tail of yarn to sew the wing onto the back of the fairy. Using your tapestry needle, thread the yarn tail to the center of the wing and attach the wing to the back. Use the whipstitch method to attach the wings.

The petals

DRESS PETALS (Make six) :

Colour E: (Petals) – No stuffing required

1: MC, 6 SC [6]

2: SC in each stitch around [6]

3: ( SC, INC) x3 [9]

4-5: SC in each stitch around [9] 

6: (2 SC, INC) x3 [12]

7-9: SC in each stitch around [12] 

 

FO, Pinch the petals opening between your index and thumb, working through both sides of the petal SL ST or SC 6 sts across, closing up the bottom of the wing. It is important to have 6 stitches at the top of each petal so that they all fit into the round 28 of the body which is 36sts.

Nose:

Using skin tone yarn to make a nose on the face. Thread the skin tone yarn through two stitches wide and repeat the stitch 5 times.
